Coaches for The Nationals are handpicked to provide the best experience for our goalkeepers. Martin leads The Nationals as an experienced camp leader with years of running junior goalkeeper camps under his belt. The rest of the team consists of DBS checked elite GK coaches from the mens and womens game, alongside experts & a liaison officer to provide professional support to all our attendees

Meet Your Nationals Coaches

  • Martin Brennan

    Martin is the Director of gloveglu academy and has a wealth of goalkeeper coaching experience. Former Spurs & Fulham GK Coach, Martin has worked at the very top, whilst also running successful Goalkeeper Camps for keepers of any age and level.

  • Hans Segers

    Ex Premier League goalkeeper with Spurs and 'The Crazy Gang' at Wimbledon - Hans is an excellent addition to The Nationals Coaching team. Currently coaching at FC Eindhoven, Hans can offer the goalkeepers an unbelievable level of coaching. As well as that, his experiences and stories as a Premier League Goalkeeper in one of the most iconic Premier League teams of all time is invaluable for the youth goalkeepers he'll be coaching.

  • Rob Blackburne

    THE authorative voice in the World of Mindset in football. Rob works with pros at the highest level to work on the mental side of their game. Prsenter of "The Footballers Mindset" podcast, and author of "Get over fear in football and gain more confidence". As the most unique position in football, a goalkeepers mindset is key, and Rob can help our young keepers understand themselves, introduce healthy routines, and help them overcome challenges.

  • Vic Bettenelli

    An experienced Goalkeeper coach specialising in youth development and scouting at Fulham. Vic coaches the scholar goalkeepers from ages 17-21, with the aim of improving the technical aspect of their game. Vic also plays a big part in scouting and talent identification for Fulham.

  • Chris Weale

    Chris has over 500 professional appearances as a goalkeeper across an 18 year career in the English Football League, most notably playing for Leicester City in the Championship from 2009-2012. Chris brings all his experience into goalkeeper coaching and is the Director of Football Coaching at Sherborne School

  • Nigel Bertrams

    Nigel rose through the PSV youth system and represented The Netherlands at youth level. Most recently, Nigel played 81 times for FC Eindhoven until this year, ending his career to focus on goalkeeper coaching.

  • Luke Garrard

    The outfield players camp is led by ex-Boreham Wood Manager & qualified coach Luke Garrard. 

    Formerly UK's Youngest Manager in the top 5 English Divisions, Luke also guided Boreham Wood to the FA Cup 5th Round in 2022.
