FREE Goalkeeper Talent Sessions 

Are you a talented, ambitious young female goalkeeper, born between 2011 and 2014? Do you want to play for England? Do you love the position, want to challenge yourself, and are ready to be tested for potential FA Women's England Talent Pathway opportunities? Then this event is for you!

Age Group: Girls who were born 2011–2014 are eligible to attend this FREE event

Date: Wednesday 17th February 2027

Location: North Birmingham Academy, 395 College Road, Birmingham, B44 0HF

Time: Session 1- 9am-12.30pm or Session 2- 1.30pm-5pm

Could you be the next England Lionesses goalkeeper?

This is your opportunity to step into a high-performance goalkeeper environment and show what makes you unique between the posts.

As part of The FA’s Discover My Talent programme, goalkeepers will take part in a range of position-specific activities and game-related scenarios designed to explore the technical, tactical, physical and psychological demands of the modern goalkeeper.

Sessions are delivered by The Nationals’ specialist goalkeeper coaches: Martin Brennan, Gavin Ward, Keval Patel, Michelle Beazley, and Rob Budd who have vast amounts of experience in working with young players and supporting progression within the female talent pathway.

These events are about discovering potential, not being perfect. You’ll be encouraged to be brave, communicate with confidence, make decisions, and express yourself while training and testing alongside other aspiring goalkeepers from across your region.

For some players, this experience may lead to further opportunities within the FA Women's England talent pathway. For everyone, it’s a chance to learn, grow, and see how far your goalkeeping journey could take you. This could be just the start for one of you to represent your country!

Meet The Coaches

  • Martin Brennan

    Head Coach and Co-Founder at The Nationals, Martin has played for Tottenham (Scholarship 16-18), Charlton Athletic, Cambridge before progressing into coaching at: Leyton Orient, Tottenham Hotspur , Wycombe Wanderers, Fulham FC 

  • Gavin Ward

    From Aston Villa to Cardiff City, Leicester City, Stoke City, QPR and Wrexham, Gavin Ward's career has been built on experience, professionalism and a passion for developing goalkeepers. 

  • Michelle Beazley

    Head Coach of Women's Goalkeeping at The Nationals, Michelle had a fantastic playing career for Fulham, QPR, Reading, Watford, Lewes, Portsmouth, Millwall, Leyton Orient. Currently coaching at London Seaward and London Bees.

  • Keval Patel

    ‘KP’ helps individuals maximise their performance through applying simple strategies and techniques to deal with growing demands of sport. Vast experience in working with Olympians, Professional Golfers, Premier League, EFL and Academy Footballers.

  • Rob Budd

    With years of experience in the National League, Rob brings a wealth of grass roots coaching experience and exceptional organisational skills. Rob knows exactly what's required to develop and prepare goalkeepers for the demands of the game!

    Get ready for an action-packed session! Meet the coaches and fellow goalkeepers, take on testing activities, put your mental ability to the test with a video analysis exercise, and finish with Goalie Wars and game scenarios. A great chance to showcase your skills, challenge yourself and have fun along the way!
